Liberal Bloggers are dumb.

Ok folks, let me admit I was wrong. I always admit I might be, but it
is less usual that I have to admit I was. I was wrong about Sarah
Palin. She isn't a joke. She's far worse. She's attractive enough
to make people not listen to what she's really saying, and she has
enough problems around her for Liberal bloggers to blow out of
proportion to be dangerous.

See, here's the thing. The left is taking every little rumor about
Governor Palin and hitting it with Pym particles (google it if you
must) to make it much bigger than it should be. Case in point: a list
was floating in the blogosphere of books MAYOR Palin wanted banned.
The list was plainly false. It was a dirty lie. It was made up. The
fact was the Mayoral candidate Sarah Palin simply asked the local
Wasilla librarian if she would remove books if Palin deemed it
necessary, and then proposed this once again when she was elected as
mayor. No book ban. Just a...

Wait a freakin' minute.

She asked if the librarian would be willing to remove books from the
library? Are you serious? According to the NY Times, the Anchorage
Daily News
, and Anne Kilkenny it happened.
Witnesses have come forward. In modern America this newly elected
mayor was looking into what it would take to censor books from her
community. This repugnant truth has been tied to an easily disproven
lie... and the lie drags the truth overboard with it when it is washed
away.

I am registered third party, but consider myself a
"Constituitonalist." The idea of a public servant considering
censorship is anathema to me. That alone would be reason enough not
to vote for her (and let's face facts- I hope John McCain passes
quietly in his bed well past his 120th birthday, but odds are a job
like president is not going to sit well with this man, so SHE is
likely who you are voting for).

So, Liberal Bloggers-- Stop being morons. Sarah Palin is raising her
own child, not her daughter's. Sarah Palin has not posed nude, or
even bikini clad holding a rifle (darn). Sarah Palin HAS made
prepatory actions toward censoring books, and MAY have asked a
librarian to resign for the sin of disagreeing with her. Sarah Palin
IS under investigation for possibly firing Alaska's top cop because he
did not fire her ex brother-in-law. The facts are bad enough.
Discrediting yourself by running the unsubstantiated rumors makes you
look like the people who claim Barack Obama is a secret Jihadist.
This election is too important to ignore facts. Play fair, or don't
play at all.

God- I'm asking politicos to play fair. Now I'M the moron!

Dan ~ Whoa, cowboy ~ The "FACT" was...? Actually, the way you stated your comment above, is NOT FACTUAL! Evidence of Palin's exact comment in context is not conclusive and until you can produce a factual, original copy of the meeting minutes of this 'repugnant fact' I think you are falling prey to your own assumptions.

It IS a fact that the librarian has not yet come forward to set the record straight, and at this point, I would tend to doubt her story anyway due to all of the politics injected into this story. And it IS a fact that she did, after all, support Palin's opponent.

I would also point out that it is a FACT that every 'witness' that has come forward so far is giving heresay ... a he/said~she/said type of story ~ On both sides of the aisle. It's a FACT that no proof has been offered to support this accusation. For every Stein, Chase or Baker saying Palin wanted to censor the library or ban books, there are 4 or 5 witnesses also saying that is a lie. She has plenty of supporters who back her side of the story and yet, they are not interviewed or featured in these hit pieces.

So, why is the assumption, opinion and heresay of everyone else more accurate than what Sarah herself has said about what her intentions were? ESPECIALLY when we haven't heard from the librarian yet? Especially since NO BOOKS were EVER BANNED OR CENSORED.

Every non-partisan article and website I have read says that Palin asked the librarian in effect, what the policy was, not would she remove books if Palin told her to! Big difference there.

Another twist in this story comes again from Palin's foes who allege that in 1995, Ms. Palin, then a city councilwoman, told colleagues that she had noticed the book “Daddy’s Roommate” on the shelves and that it did not belong there, according to Ms. Chase and Mr. Stein. Ms. Chase read the book, which helps children understand homosexuality, and said it was inoffensive;(TO HER) she suggested that Ms. Palin read it.

“Sarah said she didn’t need to read that stuff,” Ms. Chase said. “It was disturbing that someone would be willing to remove a book from the library and she didn’t even read it.”

This is an extremely biased opinion piece, again only quoting people who have had negative run ins with Palin and seem to have definite OPINIONS in re-telling the account from their biased perspective. Again, there is no proof here. EVEN IF TRUE, there is no context as to why Palin objected to that particular book being 'on the shelves'. I would suggest that perhaps there was no system set in place at that time to identify or restrict offensive material, to place them in age appropriate sections, or allow parental review and/or permission for children. Perhaps because of questioning policies and having discussions regarding the concerns of 'social conservatives', a system was devised to accomodate everyone. Is that a bad thing? It certainly is different than 'banning' a book or censorship. Again, in these partisan, judgmental articles we are seeing 'he said/she said' accusations with the same foes.

Isn't this a case of deeming someone quilty without even a trial? Isn't this sort of a witchhunt with liberals screaming code words that tend to incite everyone to anger? I'm pretty tired of the FACTS being misrepresented for political agendas... I'm surprised that you would jump into this murky water with both feet without probing around a little more to see if there is an undertow.

Oh, I've done all kinds of reading on this, and this is what PALIN'S office said was the excuse. These are Mayor Palin's words. Not mine, hers. Unless you are saying I shouldn't believe her side of the story...

I'd like to see the link to this quote if you get the time. It's not like any that I have seen.

Thanks.
